CCNY STEM Institute Jump Jam
A downloadable game
Jump Jam was an in-person game jam focused on creating 2D platformer games centered around the theme of “Lost Signal” and digital mental health. Congratulations to all the participants, your projects were incredible stepping stones toward larger creations that can truly impact how young people think about their mental well-being.
We had five amazing teams bring their visions to life:
🥇 1st Place – Team Quirky Platypus with game: Lost Signal
- In this game, you play as Cody, a robot living in the year 3000 who’s addicted to technology. As Cody searches for a signal in a ruined world, he slowly discovers the importance and healing power of nature.
Team Members:
- Filipp Molokov
- Cindy Wu
- Jet Budd
🥈 2nd Place – Team Good Gamez with game: Banment Rush
- A fast-paced 20-level game where you battle against spikes representing YouTube Shorts—symbolizing how doomscrolling negatively affects students. “Inappropriate content” is banned in-game to reflect what doesn’t belong in a healthy digital environment.
Solo Developer: Tyson Johnson
🥉 3rd Place & Community Vote Winner – Team The Winner with game: Big Apple
- In this game, you're trapped inside your own mind, being chased by a giant iPhone representing the overwhelming pressure and influence of constant phone usage.
Solo Developer: Miles Strugger
Team LeBorn Jame Inc. with game: Lobotomy
- A dark, solo-developed game that explores mental health through mechanics like managing sanity, fighting inner monsters, and thoughtful platforming.
Solo Developer: Dotimi Kagbala
Team Tri-Delta Force with game: Not-Pico
- This horror-themed platformer uses screen glitches and strange errors to hint at a mysterious higher entity, encouraging players to reflect on what really matters in life.
Team Members:
- Marcos Reyes
- Julian Esteban Arroyave
- Chace Li
Thank you again to all who participated, you should be incredibly proud of what you created in such a short amount of time. We’re excited to see where your creativity takes you next!
